On the interview with my grandpa.

I thought it would be really interesting to hear about his experiences with working in an industrial environment and with machinery. I also wanted to ask about how this differs to his experiences in nature, and also the sounds involved in these two different environments.

I found it really interesting listening to the language he used when describing specific machinery and processes in the factory, words that are so unfamiliar to me, but must be so familiar to him.

You can tell that he is proud of the factory and the environment that has been created, and he enjoys the feeling of industry and 'everything moving on and going' and that they're 'making things and doing things' as he puts it.

I loved how he described the two differing feelings he gets when hearing the sounds in the factory and hearing sounds in nature, and how both are enjoyable for him. Although he does feel the relief of being out in nature, away from any industry.

I found this interview/conversation really valuable and I will certainly use aspects of his thoughts and maybe his words in my work to come.
